Gemma Turon, PhD

Ersilia Open Source Initiative

I am a science enthusiast with extensive experience in molecular biology and stem cells. After my PhD I took a year break to focus on work and volunteering in the third sector. This shifted my attention to global health and neglected diseases, and the barriers to addressing some of the most pressing health issues in developing countries. I use my skills and training to develop and implement new AI/ML methods for infectious and neglected disease research as part of the Ersilia Open Source Initiative. As part of my day job, I also contribute to data science training and capacity building.
